Spring break is over and I find myself two days away from returning to the dreaded library again. I think I'm reaching a career burn out. My holiday was wonderful. Took three days and went to see my mom in Washington. She bought herself this nice little green house that looks like the kind you see on TV, just downsized by a ton. The Academic Bowl went okay. My kids got third, only Green Dale Elem. and Jefferson beating us. Maybe I should have held two practices a wekk instead of one. 3 Junkies || Have a Cup?

[22 Feb 2005|05:15pm] [ mood | gloomy ] OHMYGOD! The school has chosen me to be in charge of the Academic Bowl. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Academic Bowl, it's basically a competition where 24 students from each school participating compete and they answer questions in groups of 4. I'm hosting tryouts tonight, and I just looked over the questions. They look hard. I don't even know most of them. *hangs head* 3 Junkies || Have a Cup?

Does anyone want to volunteer to supervise the second graders?" No one says a thing. In fact, I see Millie trying to hide behind a display of YHBA books. "No one? Well, then I'll just have to randomly pick a few members of the staff that aren't supervising anything," he looks at his chart and fumbles with the clipboard a bit, "We'll have Mary, Jenny, and Hannah do second grade. They have lunch at 12:30, but you should be there at least 15 minutes early." Wait, wait, wait, HANNAH? My name is Hannah? So, on my first day of lunch duty, some boy got sent to the principal's office for calling a girl a slut. This is third grade. *faints* What is the world coming to anyway? Have a Cup?

We all rushed out, assuming it was a real fire and huddled for at lest a hour. I was trying to get the second graders under control, but the girls were sobbing, and the boys were running around. The fire truck finally came at 1:35, and we went in. Good news: winter break has officially started. That means no librarian duties for a whole two weeks. Have a Cup?

Nearly thirty 2. a librarian 3. extremely boring 4. has a mother who has burnt the Thanksgiving turkey 16 years in a row 5. currently drives a car that is 12 years old, and is falling apart 6. recently spent a massive amount of money on cashmere sweaters, that were not refundable, and currently hates them now 7. loves Dead POets Society 8. is not ashamed at the fact that I have a enormous crush on Jude Law, and that my boss has a huge crush on Johnny Depp, along with all my other fellow librarians 9. enjoyed reading Harry Potter, which is the only piece of somewhat adult literature I have read since the beginning of the school year 10. has a favorite picture book... 11. Robert Frost addict...any other ones out there, e-mail me! 12. does not have any IM accounts, due to the fact that she is still in the prehistoric technology times 13. rooms with someone who constantly drags me to clubs, and gets me drunk 14. rooms with a cashier at Wal-Mart, and does not get any sale benefits... 15. extremely cranky when someone reminds me that I am nearing the next 10 mark, and it's not 20 16. feels young by conversing with kids 12 years younger than me on the plane...
